Beth Racette is a visual artist who works in many mediums. Her work has explored a variety of topics from social structure, such as the prison system to the web of life. Underlying themes in her work are flow (i.e. history, societal resources, biology, life processes, contagion, inspiration and communication) and interconnection. She has been working on the Gaia Series since 2012. Her goal when she makes art is to utilize and integrate her entire self. Beth grew up in Wichita, Kansas and received her Masters of Fine Art in 1989 from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. She currently administrates community and education programs at Overture Center in Madison WI.
